Art Discovery Tuesday – Americana Collage

Memorial Day – looks like a lot of picnic and parties in America – but it’s the holiday we remember those who served in our country’s armed forces and died for this country. It’s remembering those who helped to make this country what it is today. I did not serve, but I have many family members who have, and I am grateful.

So in honor of those men and women – I put together this collage page that has post cards from the civil war era and beautiful illustrations of our flag, the american eagle and Lady Columbia. I hope you can use it for making some great cards, or decorating ephemera in your journals.

To download the image, click on the it to open it full size and then right click and choose Save Image As, Save Picture As or Download Linked File (depending on your browser!).

    Thank you for this lovely reminder of what Memorial Day is really about! Love the 5×7 kit and just purchased it, as well as some of your other creations that I have had in my basket, waiting for me to hit purchase! 🙂 Not only do I love the mushroom kit, but the name “Morel of the Story” is so clever! My son hunts Morels. I’ll probably use some of your images on his birthday card. If only he was a journaling kind of a guy, I’d make him a mushroom journal. I would definitely name it mycological musings! 🙂 I see you went for the “musings” part anyway.

    Thank you so much, Heather! I’ve always wanted to hunt morels…but don’t know anyone who could steer me away from the dangerous ones! Haha. And, yes, while I totally loved mycologic musings, I couldn’t get it to fit in the bookplate. 😂 enjoy your digitals, and have a great Memorial Day!
