Create Photographer Cabinet Cards with your own Photos

Have you ever seen Cabinet Cards? These awesome cards were popular in the mid to late 1800’s, and were used by photographers to showcase portraits they did. They usually have the photographer’s name and address or location and are mounted on a thick card stock or chipboard. They were called “cabinet” cards because people would display them in their cabinets (duh – I know, seems obvious!).

I’ve come across these in antique stores and flea markets and just love collecting them. But sometimes I wish I could have my own people in them. All the cards I have – well, they are strangers. I mean most of them. Some of them I talk to and we have become great friends. I’m just kidding, people!

Anyway – I thought it would be fun to make my own cabinet cards and put my family in them – and you can craft along with me if you want to make your own as well – just check out the video below.

I’ve created a digital kit that you can use to make your own too – click here to see it my shop.

Thanks for watching!
