Making my Junk Journal January Journal
I’m so excited to be a part of the Junk Journal January collab this year! My day is the 30th – and the prompt is “unexpected”. So – to get everything ready for the month, I needed to get my journal ready to go!
I wanted to put together a journal that really was just a starting place. I didn’t do a lot of adding tucks and pockets like I normally do in my journals, because I want to leave all that to happen when I’m doing the prompts for the challenge. It seems plain now, but it will be a great base for all the fun in January.
I used a variety of pages in this 1 signature journal, in the hopes that they would inspire me as I went along. I used lots of old book pages from encyclopedias, ledgers, botanical illustration books, which I always think inspire me.
Clipped to the front of the journal I included a selection of collage pages that I’m hoping will become a part of one of the prompts. I’m thinking this will also help me save time gathering up pieces while I’m working.
For the cover of the journal, I decided to use some digitals from my Mini Atlas kit. If you’d like to get this freebie, you can head over here to pick up the 4 page kit that includes tags, notecards, envelopes and more!
You can see how the whole thing came together pretty easily – and there’s some great help if you are trying to put one together for yourself!
