Quick Christmas Journals that make great gifts

Every time I’m headed out to a friends for the holidays – I think, “I really wish I had a little gift to bring.” I know my friends don’t expect it, but what a nice way to say – “hey, I think you are a pretty great friend.”
Granted, I’m not always good at having something in hand (and luckily, I haven’t lost any friends over it!), but this year, I wanted to have a few “ready to go” gifts I could easily hand to a friend.
That’s where these little journals come in – and come in handy! They are quick to create, and are perfect to help keep you on track for the season. These end up being about 3″x6″ so would fit great in a purse or pocket – easy to carry with you!
Supplies to have on hand to make these include:
- Time cards (but if you don’t have these, you could use cardstock or even leftover cardboard for the covers!)
- Christmas themed napkins
- Binding thread and needle
- Blank or lined papers to make the inside signature from
- Scrap fabric
- Stick glue and liquid glue
- Sewing machine (this is totally optional!)
- Awl or piercing tool
- Distress ink
Even if your friends don’t know anything about junk journaling, you could still make them work by changing the inside pages to a “standard” notebook type paper. Give them to friends to:
- Keep their Christmas gift lists in
- Make to-do lists to be sure the family get together goes off without a hitch
- Journal about the season (even small, everyday memories are fun to go back and look at!)
- Save receipts, recipes and raisins (ok, I was on a roll and couldn’t think of another “r” word that fit here…)
