Tutorial – Frayed edge fabric washi
Do you like to have fabric in your junk journals? I love paper, but I’ve been trying to put more fabric elements in my journals. I’ve been seeing some tutorials for fabric washi tape, and I thought this would be a great addition to my stash – having some strips available to decorate with.
The only problem was, I prefer a shabbier look than what most fabric washi looks like. I wanted torn fabric – not a clean edge I kept seeing on most fabric washi’s. So, well, I set out to make my own shabby, frayed edge washi and I love it!
In today’s tutorial, I step you through how to rip fabric and make fun fabric washi with a shabby frayed edge. And then – to sweeten the pot, I give you 10 ideas to use that washi tape in projects and in your journals!
Tools and supplies I used in this tutorial:
Ms. Sparkle & Co. 1″ double sided tape. (I couldn’t find a picture of this anywhere, but I got mine at the discount bin at Joann Fabrics.) | As many fabric scraps as you’d like! |
